Okine Quaye’s funeral on Sep 16
The president of the Ghana Table Tennis Association(GTTA), Mawuko Afadzinu, and his Vice, Kenneth Ashigbey, will lead the funeral procession of former West Africa Table Tennis champion, Ebenezer Okine Quaye, whose burial ceremony takes place at the D.G Hathiramani Sports Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, September 16, 2016.

Quaye who passed away in London a month ago after a short illness.started his career in ping pong at age seven, under the tutelage of Indian merchant, D.G. Hathiramani ,before rising to become a national champion.
His agile footworks and amazing skills saw him rising to become the only Ghanaian junior player to win the prestigious Kent Open Singles in England.
He represented Ghana at two world table tennis championships in 1961 and 1963.
His major competitor and mentor was his elder brother, E.A Quaye, whom he lost to in the finals of the Africa Table Tennis championship.
