Okrah receives DSTV-SuperSport award

MultiChoice Ghana last Thursday honoured its promise to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Premiership Player of the Year, Augustine Okrah, by presenting DSTV Explora satellite dish to the player at a short ceremony in Accra.

Oscar Mensah, the Operations Manager at MultiChoice Ghana, presented the package to the 20-year-old on behalf of Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, General Manager of MultiChoice Ghana

The Bechem United playmaker was earlier presented with the award citation at the 39th MTN SWAG Awards Night held at the Banquet Hall of the State House last May.

SuperSport, the league’s broadcast holders, fulfilled its earlier promise to present a set of goodies to the best player, including a complete single set of its DSTV Explora satellite package.

Okrah was crowned best player for the 2013/14 season after he won more man-of-the-match awards than any other player, topped the goal scorers chart with 16 goals and provided 10 assists.

His performance was hailed as incredible because it meant he scored or assisted more than 80 per cent of all the goals Bechem United scored last season.

Meanwhile, Bechem United have finally agreed terms with Swedish side BK Häcken for Okrah to join on loan after 14 clubs had submitted official transfer bids for the player.
