Otto Addo boosts morale of injured Black Stars players
THE Black Stars Head Coach, Otto Addo, has demonstrated a personal touch in his management by visiting injured members of his squad in a bid to boost morale and offer his heartfelt support during their road to recovery.
The coach’s visit was part of efforts to rebuild the national team ahead of crucial fixtures. His first stop was in France where he met Alidu Seidu, the Stade Rennes defender, sidelined by a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee.

The 23-year-old, who was named Rennes’ Player of the Month in September, suffered the blow during a Ligue 1 clash against LOSC last month.
Before Seidu underwent surgery, the coach shared encouraging words, urging him to stay positive during his recovery. The surgery has since been declared a success but Seidu’s absence will be keenly felt as Ghana faces critical 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March.
The coach continued to England where he paid a visit to Leicester City winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who is out for the rest of the season following a serious knee injury.
Widely seen as a rising star, Issahaku’s unavailability for the World Cup qualifiers is another blow to Otto Addo’s plans.
The coach also spent time with Leicester forward Jordan Ayew who has recently returned to full fitness after an injury he sustained in Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
Ayew’s recovery is a boost to the Black Stars, with his experience expected to play a pivotal role in the team’s campaign.
