The Executive Director of Landmark Promotions, Ekow Johnson, told the Daily Graphic that the bout, dubbed the “The Return of the Dragon”, is generating a lot of excitement around Bukom, James Town, Tantra Hills and Achimota where the bout is going to be staged.
The keen interest in the bout follows a recent comment made by Powers that he would quit the sport if he is beaten by the Beninois.
Also, Powers’ bosom friend, Bukom Banku, has promised to be at the ringside to sing for his friend and boxing opponent and also cheer him on.
Meanwhile, Powers has intensified his training at the Sagacious Gym ahead of the all-important fight.
Powers, whose fight with Bukom Banku, rekindled national interest in the sport in May, has signed a three-fight contract with soccer academy side, Unity Park.
The contract, worth GH¢50,000, is expected to boost the chances of the Australian-based Ghanaian fighter towards a proposed rematch with Braimah Kamoko.
