Premier League clubs attend licensing seminar
A two-day seminar to prepare football clubs for the full implementation of the Club Licensing System (CLS) in Ghana was opened in Accra yesterday by GFA Vice- President, Fred Crentsil, who asked CEOs of the 16 Premier League clubs in attendance to apply the knowledge acquired to improve the fortunes of their clubs.
The seminar is being ran by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association and is expected to touch on five key areas of licensing system —sporting, infrastructure, administrative and personnel, legal and financial requirements of clubs.

Trained and experienced CAF instructors with specialised knowledge in each of the five areas are conducting the seminar which ends today. Nigerians Paul Bassey and Willy Kapukare will speak on infrastructure and the sporting aspect of club licensing respectively.
Another instructor, Kabelo Bosilong will also take participants through topics such as legal, finance and administration.
CAF started the implementation of the new licensing system from the 2011-2012 season, and is seeking to take it to the next level by conducting such seminars for national associations and clubs across the continent.
