Sakyi eyes Satellites call-up
Enterprising young midfielder, Elvis Sakyi, has set his sights on a place in the Black Satellite African Youth Championship qualifiers squad.
Fresh from securing a deal to play for Turkish second-tier side, Yeni Malatyaspor, the 19-year-old playmaker believes a breakthrough campaign at his new club this season would earn him entry into Mas-Ud Didi Dramani's Satellites.
The former Cheetah FC defensive midfielder is no stranger to winning trophies and possesses the qualities to add steel to the Satellites midfield.
A ball winner with a brilliant passing range, the 1.78m tall Sakyi won numerous trophies during his school days, including both the national and regional inter-school soccer championships with Kumasi Anglican Secondary School.
After leaving the country for Turkey early this year, the skilful midfielder first had a trial stint with Turkish giants, Galatasaray, before landing in Malatyaspor.
Sakyi’s previous clubs included local juvenile sides, Shaggy FC and DC United.
