See all the nominees of the 2022 Ghana Football Awards
English Premier League trio Thomas Partey (Arsenal), Daniel Amartey (Leicester City) and Mohammed Salisu (Southampton) have emerged as frontrunners for the flagship prize in this year's Ghana Football Awards.
The trio are on a five-man shortlist for the Footballer of the Year with France-based Alexander Djiku and Black Stars goalie Jojo Wollacott.
The Ghana Football Awards scheme celebrates footballers who have achieved great exploits in the year under review.
These players are celebrated in grand style at an awards ceremony which comes off every July in Accra.
This year's event will take place at the Grande Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
Other nominees
Another exciting category is the home-based Footballer of the Year, which honours Ghanaians and foreigners who play in the Ghana Premier League.
This season's league winners Asante Kotoko have two players in that category; Imoro Ibrahim and Franck Embella Etouga alongside Yaw Annor of Ashgold and Agustine Okrah of Bechem United.
There is also the Female Football of the Year, Coach of the Year and Team of the Year among others.
