Sponsor hockey league to attract youth — Elizabeth King
An executive member of the Ghana Hockey Association, Madam Elizabeth Safoah King, has made a passionate appeal to corporate bodies to provide adequate sponsorship for female hockey teams to make the league more competitive and attractive .
While commending Dwadifo Adanfo for sponsoring the Greater Accra Hockey league she said with other corporate bodies offering their support in the form of sponsorship, the young generations with flair in hockey would join the participating teams to nurture and develop their potential more meaningfully.

Madam King, who was a former Director of the Ghana Prisons Service noted with concern, the performance of the Reformers which represents the Prison Service in the league.
She said lack of sponsorship had been the bane of the performance of the team in recent times, saying,“ For lack of sponsorship, we were not able to participate in Africa when we were on top of the league and won it on many occasions”.
According to the former director, the Police team had hit top form and performed very creditably because of the youthful exuberance of players who feature for them.
“Reformers have very good players, but many of them have been caught up with age, so it is their experience that make it possible for them to compete with the other teams. That is why we need the young ones to beef up the team for us to return to our winning ways,” she explained.
According to Madam King, hockey had been one of the major disciplines that had propelled the Service to achieve higher laurels, and therefore expressed the hope that they would get the needed support to motivate the young generation to be attracted to the team.
She commended the Police for winning the female hockey league and expressed the hope that they would fly the flag of Ghana very high when they feature in the African Hockey Champions League.
