The committee, chaired by Appeals Court Judge, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Lawyer and Sports Administrator, Moses Foh Amoaning and sports enthusiast, Kofi Anokye Owusu Darko have up to 30 days to present their report to the Minister.

A statement signed by Mahama Ayariga said the setting up of the committee followed President Mahama’s call for a full review of the Black Stars' performance at the ongoing tournament.

It said, “Government believes that a forward-looking inquiry will expose lapses to engender reforms to improve the organisation of Ghana’s participation in future tournaments.”

According to the statement, the terms of reference of the Committee include an inquiry into matters relating to the team’s preparation for the tournament and possible lapses therein which might have caused their early exit from the tournament.

The Committee has also been tasked to inquire into matters relating to the management of the Black Stars team and events in their camp during the tournament.

Further, the committee is mandated to inquire into matters relating to the country’s treatment of football fans who were sent to support the team.

The statement also said the Committee is to provide advice to government on the financing of activities of the Senior National Team and other national teams, as well as inquire into all other related matters of public interest concerning the organisation of the Black Stars’ participation in the tournament.
