Sports Philanthropist Jason Onyameh tips Black Loopers to excel at 2026 World Team Championships
Sports philanthropist and veteran table tennis player, Jason Onyameh of Divine Travel and Tours has tipped the Senior Female National Table Tennis Team to excel at the Centennial edition of the World Team Table Tennis Championships slated for London, United Kingdom in April 2026.
He has touted Ghana’s qualification to the World Championships as a massive achievement for the Ghana Table Tennis Association and the nation as a whole.
”It is a confirmation of hard work and dedication of the entire fraternity; players, coaches, administrators, managers, media and all stakeholders” Mr Onyameh said.
He rallied for national support to ensure that the team performs to its optimal level during the championships.
”We need good planning and organization in terms of funding to cater for our athletes, technical and auxiliary staff. Our athletes need accessories, equipment, proper and serene venue for training."
He also reiterated the need for free flow of information amongst all stakeholders to ensure the team gets all relevant logistics to make them comfortable, and be able to concentrate and also train well.
Mr Onyameh is calling on government and the relevant authorities to treat the national table tennis team the same way they treat football players.
Touching on the tournament itself, Mr Onyameh believes team Ghana has the might to halt the arsenal of their opponents.
”The Diaz sisters of Puerto Rico and Sofia Polcanova of Austria will be a force to reckon with, but with determination and intensive training, nothing is impossible.”
”Our team should go out there knowing they are the best in their own rights and they should be geared up to make Ghana proud," he added.
The world team table tennis championships comes off in April in London in the United Kingdom, with the best of the best converging to showcase global table tennis artistry.
