Table Tennis: William Asare shocks fans

William Asare of the Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division) last Saturday was the toast of fans when he defeated second seed and highly- fancied Felix Lartey of Ghana Immigration 3-0 in the final decider of the Table Tennis League at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday.

Asare, a graduate of the University of Cape Coast, has been a consistent performer for Customs throughout the league, winning tight duels for his side.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is set to organise another exciting tournament dubbed, Top 16, to select players for the All Africa Games.

Mawuko Afadzinu, the President of the GTTA, hailed the exploits of Asare and also congratulated the other participants for the performancse in the competition.

He disclosed that the association would soon launch a big sponsorship deal for next season's league.
