Training for Central Region sports administrators

Twenty sports administrators drawn, from the Central Region, have commenced a capacity building training workshop at the Winneba Sports College.

The five  day training programme which is being organised by the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and sponsored by Olympic Solidarity is aimed at sharpening the skills of participants to enhance sports development in their jurisdiction and the country.
The participants are from the Ghana Education Service (GES), Security Services, National Sports Authority (NSA) and the University of Cape Coast.
In a speech read on his behalf, the Director of Winneba Sports College, Mr Joe Kpenge, expressed the hope that the beneficiaries would apply the knowledge they would acquire to good use to enhance sports development.
Mr Kpenge also urged them to take advantage of the course to enable them excel in their various fields.
He was full of praise for the GOC and Olympic Solidarity for the opportunity and hoped that more of such courses would be organised in future for the good of sports development in the country.
The National Course Director of GOC,   Professor H.A. Pufaa, advised the participants to take the course seriously and hinted that a similar programme would be organised for Sport Administrators in the northern sector of the country.
 Professor Pufaa said Olympic Solidarity and the GOC were poised to produce quality sports administrators who would bring dignity and honour to the nation’s sports.
