Veteran Ladies donate to hockey teams

Veteran Hockey Ladies have presented a quantity of fruits and drinks to the national hockey teams to inspire them to deliver at the four-nation Hockey World League Round 1 tournament being hosted at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra.

The items, presented on behalf of Veteran Ladies by Madam Elizabeth Safoah King, included quantities of bananas, apples, fruit drinks, water and soft drinks. 

Madam King, in her address, urged the players to focus on their training to enable them to win the trophies at stake. “It is important for you to win both the male and female trophies to ensure that you qualify to play in the Hockey World Round 2tournament,” she noted. 

The coach of the female team, Madam Rosemary Lamptey, who received the items on behalf of the teams, gave assurance that they were prepared to brush aside every opposition that comes their way to make the nation proud.

Kenya, Nigeria, Namibia and hosts Ghana are participating in the tournament which starts to dayand ends on Sunday.
