Wave Club dominates Happy FM Keep Fit Festival
Wave Keep Fit Club won six events to emerge champions of the 10th edition of the Happy FM Keep Fit Festival held last Saturday at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
The festival saw a congregation of over 90 keep fit clubs from across the country competing for honours in 10 disciplines.

Wave remained undaunted by the number of challengers throughout the day, winning six trophies, including sack race, 1,500m men’s athletics, 100m women’s athletics and 4x100m women’s athletics.
Some new entrants such as God Babies Keep Fit Club, Kasapa Keep Fit Club and Holy Sprinters Keep Fit Club also impressed by winning the lime and spoon race, football and 1,500 metres race respectively.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, a popular football administrator, Vincent Sowah Odotei, advised all the keep fit clubs present to select leaders with integrity to lead them.
He also assured the event organisers and the clubs of his unflinching support in promoting the growth of all sports disciplines in the country.
The President of the Greater Accra Keep Fit Clubs Association, Mr S. Y. Mensah, thanked all the clubs for showing up and for their loyalty which makes the festival better each year.
On her part, the Communications Manager of Global Media Alliance Broadcast Unit, Naomi Nelson, thanked the clubs for keeping faith with the festival by participating every year and assured the clubs of an improved organisation and incentives in the years ahead.

Participants were also given the opportunity to check their health status with free medical care from Van Jay Eye Clinic and GIZ as part of the side attractions of the event.
