We’ll beat Hearts again - All Stars vow

The General Manager of Wa All Stars, Mr Seth Panwum, has served warning that they will descend on the nation’s capital to hand league leaders Accra Hearts of Oak their first defeat of the season on Sunday as they did two seasons ago.

The two sides are undefeated after five matches and are separated by two points, making Sunday’s top fixture very decisive as the outcome could alter the league standings.

All Stars’ boss, Seth Panwum, says the club aims to dominate the Phobians on home soil just as they did in the 2013/14 season when they handed the Phobians 3-0 defeats in Accra and in Wa, to enhance their quest to win the Premier League title.

He said special incentives have been lined up for the players to motivate them to pull the brakes on Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s charges.

“We have organised a special package for the team. I will not disclose the content but I know we have something special for the boys and so I expect them to beat Hearts at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday,” the All Stars boss told Graphic Sports yesterday.

“We are storming Accra and we know Hearts are in their best of forms but we are also ready for the game.”

Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash pits the league’s best defence (All Stars) against the most potent attack (Hearts). The free-scoring Hearts have scored nine goals while the Wa side has conceded just one goal in five games.

Hearts’ Japanese trainer, Yatsuhashi, has masterminded a brilliant start to the season but faces probably his sternest test yet against second-placed All Stars who have recently built a reputation as a bogey side for the league leaders.

Interestingly, Coach Enos Kwame Adipah's side also boasts of an historical edge heading into the clash with eight wins, three draws and five losses in their last 16 duels.

Elsewhere at Dormaa-Ahenkro, under-fire Kotoko coach, David Duncan, will stare down the barrel of a gun when he takes his charges to face Aduana Stars.

Like Kotoko, 14th-placed Aduana Stars also have an expensively assembled squad who have endured a torrid start (three losses, a draw and a loss) and will be determined to win another tough game to turn their season around.

Aduana have in their ranks three former Kotoko players -- Yahaya Mohammed, Richard Mpong and goalie Joseph Addo -- who will be keen on deepening the woes of their former club.

In other fixtures, New Edubiase United host Techiman City at the Len Clay Stadium, Sekondi Hasaacas host Berekum Chelsea, Liberty Professionals clash with AshantiGold at the Carl Reindorf Park, Dreams FC lock horns with WAFA at the Dawu Stadium and Medeama face Bechem United at the T&A Park.

This weekend’s fixtures start tomorrow at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast where Ebusua Dwarfs play Inter Allies.
