Yandal outshines Adupko at Ho Marathon
Right from the start, the Ho Millennium Marathon promised to be very competitive, as over 3,000 participants turned up to run the 10.5km race. In the end, it proved to be just that as Joseph Yandal stayed the course to beat veteran and former national marathon champion, Godwin Adukpo.
It was an intense race between the two men in particular, but Yandal took a commanding lead and reached the finish line, several minutes before Adupko could breast the tape. Kwesi Savi came third.

Apart from recording the highest turn-out, the Ho Marathon also recorded a first as it had a Regional Minister participate in the event.
The Volta Regional Minister, Madam Helen Adjoa Ntoso, received the loudest cheers and applause as she crossed the finish line.
Though she did not run the full 10.5km distance, she nonetheless participated in the event and managed to get to the finish line, cheered on by her deputy, Mr Francis Ganyoglo. She still had enough energy to present the prizes to the deserving winners.
The Volta Regional Minister applauded the runners from Volta Region for their immense support and also for their interest in keeping fit and promoting good health.
She charged the winners to maintain their discipline and training, so as to do well at the event for which they have qualified to compete in on September 5, in Accra.
