15 banks in line to meet BoG capital demand

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) says about 15 banks are so far in line to recapitalise to GHS400 million by December this year.

Of the number, six banks have already met while three are ready to merge, Dr Ernest Addison, Governor of the BoG made this known at the MPC meeting on Monday.

The rest have also submitted plans that BoG believes will lead to fresh capital injection by December this year.

Dr Addison said BoG was also working with the rest of the banks on their plans to recapitalise.
