Speaking at the event, the President of the Ghana Chapter of ACFE, Dr Rebecca Atswei Lomo, reiterated the need for commitment to fight fraud and corruption in Ghana.

She explained that building institutional resilience against fraud requires continuous professional development and the adoption of modern forensic techniques.

"The fight against fraud and corruption requires collective action and commitment from all stakeholders.

We must strengthen our institutions and equip our professionals with the right tools and knowledge to detect, prevent, and respond to emerging fraud threats,” he said.

Ethical practices

Former Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood, who chaired the event, highlighted how corruption and unethical behavior have undermined Ghana's developmental progress.

She urged participants not only to learn from the conference but to actively implement anti-fraud principles, emphasizing the critical importance of recognizing and publicly celebrating individuals who demonstrate integrity as a means of inspiring broader societal change.

Call

For his part, the National President of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International, Ghana,  Emmanuel Baba Mahama, argued that organisational culture fundamentally reflected the behavior of its leaders.

According to him, leadership inherently determines an entity's ethical standards, adding that "leaders get what they either exhibit themselves or tolerate.

So, if you go to an entity and there is fraud and corruption, either the leader is fraudulent, corrupt or he tolerates it."

He further advocated for a balanced perspective that equally celebrates and recognised those who maintain integrity in challenging environments, asserting that "the focus should not be on catching people doing something wrong" but also on honoring those who remain ethically steadfast.
