4th Ghana FinTech Awards launched
THE fourth edition of the Ghana Fintech Awards which seeks to honour the dedication and achievements of individuals and companies as they navigate the dynamic landscape of finance, striving to create resilient and competitive ventures has been launched in Accra.
The award, jointly organised by the Ghana Fintech and Payments Association, KPMG and Arkel Limited is on the theme: “Building Trust in Ghana’s Digital Economy: The Essential Role of Cybersecurity and Data Privacy.”
Beyond recognition, the awards serve as a platform to amplify Ghana's FinTech prowess and its pivotal role in fostering economic growth and financial inclusion.

Scheduled for March 1, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, it will also champion innovation and highlight the journey towards a robust FinTech ecosystem, to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of financial transactions across the nation.
Speaking at the launch in Accra last Friday, the Project Coordinator for the Ghana Fintech Awards, Cristina Swan-Awagah, stressed on the significant role of FinTechs in promoting financial accessibility and digital adoption in the country.
She explained that the awards emphasize the ability of FinTechs to integrate smoothly into various industries, ultimately enhancing the convenience of financial transactions across e-commerce platforms and digital services.
“With the Ghana Fintech Awards, we aim to recognize the innovation and adaptability of fintech companies that are enabling convenient financial transactions and supporting the broader economy through digital transformation,” she said.
She disclosed that the nomination period was open from October 25 to November 25, 2024 and encouraged individuals and companies to nominate deserving candidates.

The 2024 categories include: Fintech & Bank Partnership of the Year; Fintech & Non-Bank Partnership of the Year; Fintech CTO/CIO of the Year; Young Fintech Leader of the Year; Fintech for Financial Inclusion; Compliant Fintech Company of the Year; Fintech Start-up of the Year; Fintech Company of the Year; Fintech Personality of the Year (Male); Fintech Personality of the Year (Female) and Leading Payments Technologies Service Provider.
