51 Police trained in financial crime investigation

The Ghana Police Command and Staff College at Winneba with support from the Ghana Association of Bankers (GAB) has trained 51 senior police officers on how to detect and investigate financial crime cases.

The two-week course, on the theme: “Techniques in financial crime investigation,” was aimed at building the capacity of crime investigators to effectively investigate financial crimes and supervise the immediate detection and collection of intelligence on financial crimes.The Commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College, ACP Maame Taa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, speaking at the closing ceremony of the training session, said capacity building was one of the most important initiatives that any serious institution or business must embark upon if it wanted to achieve its objectives and remain in business.

That, she said, would help the institution to revise its methods, tactics and strategies in providing service
