A new platform launched to boost visibility, growth of Ghanaian businesses

A comprehensive digital marketplace and business discovery platform aimed at connecting businesses across the country to customers, partners and opportunities within their communities and beyond has been launched.

Known as “GHKonect.com”, it seeks to integrate businesses from all sectors and regions of the country onto a single, trusted digital platform.

Launched by Golden Dreams Events and Promotions Management, the initiative is intended to promote economic growth, enhance enterprise visibility and support the country’s broader digital transformation agenda.

Digital platform

Speaking at the launch in Accra on January 14, the Chief Executive Officer of Golden Dreams Events and Promotions Management, Paul Osei Assibey, described GHKonect.com as a transformative initiative positioned to become the digital front door for every business in the country.

According to him, GHKonect.com aspired to become the country’s leading business directory and discovery platform by offering a comprehensive and verified database of enterprises across all 16 regions.

He said the platform combined business listings, advertising, community engagement tools and data-driven insights to help businesses grow while enabling consumers to make informed decisions.

He stated that the mission of the platform was to digitise and connect every business in the country, making it easy for citizens to discover, engage with and transact with trusted local enterprises.

Its vision, he added, was to evolve into West Africa’s foremost business discovery and connectivity platform, driving inclusive economic growth through accessibility and innovation.

Key features

Outlining the key features of GHKonect.com, Mr Assibey said it included detailed enterprise directories with rich business profiles, image galleries, services and real-time updates.

Other features, he said, included a self-service advertising engine for banner ads and featured listings, tools for promoting events and special offers, a job board to connect employers with local talent, and analytics and insights to help businesses track performance and understand customer behaviour.

He further explained that the platform incorporated reviews and reputation management system with verified ratings and public responses, designed to build trust between businesses and customers.

He said featured and verified businesses would also be highlighted to help users easily identify credible service providers across the country.

For government institutions and development partners, he said the platform offered a single digital window into the business ecosystem, data insights for policy formulation, and support for SME development programmes and regional campaigns.

He encouraged businesses across the country to take advantage of the platform, stressing that registration starts with a free listing, with flexible upgrade options available as businesses expand.

“GHKonect.com is about building Ghana’s digital business future, one connection at a time,” Mr Assibey said, calling on entrepreneurs and organisations to join thousands of businesses already moving online through the platform.
