Access Bank relaunches ‘Pick Now, Pay Later’ with 0% interest for six months
ACCESS Bank Ghana has officially relaunched its popular “Pick Now, Pay Later” product in a fully digitised format that promises loan approvals in minutes and, for a limited festive-season period, zero per cent interest for the first six months.
The upgraded service, unveiled at a ceremony at the bank’s head office in Accra last Thursday, allows salaried customers whose payroll runs through Access Bank to buy household appliances, furniture, building materials, mobile phones and solar products from partner merchants and repay the cost in interest-free instalments over six months.
At the launch, Group Head for Consumer Banking, Michael Gyabaah, said the bank has moved away from the previous manual process that took one to two days for approval to a seamless digital journey that can be completed on a smartphone.
“Life moves fast, and financial solutions must keep up, whether it’s an unexpected repair, school needs, or simply wanting to upgrade your home. This product gives hardworking Ghanaians breathing space without the burden of interest – at least for the first six months,” he stated.
Shop price
Customers will pay exactly the marked shop price with no hidden fees during the promotional period, after which standard rates will apply for any remaining balance or new purchases.
The bank has expanded its merchant network nationwide to include major retailers such as Ashfoam, Get4Less, Electromart, Electroland, Osmotex, West Africa Hardware and Decor Limited, Franco Trading, Optima Solar, TopRecord.com, MC Bukemi and others, with plans to onboard more partners.
The Country Operating Officer of the bank, Ugochi Okoro, described the relaunch as more than a technology upgrade.
“This is about recognising the teacher who needs a refrigerator before payday, the trader who must restock before the market peaks, and the parent who refuses to let their children go without,” she said.
Zero per cent interest
Ms Okoro emphasised that the platform has been designed for transparency and speed, offering what she called “a more humane banking experience” at moments when customers need it most.
Access Bank says the revamped Pick Now, Pay Later service is immediately available to all salary account holders through the bank’s mobile app and USSD platform, with no paperwork required for eligible applicants.
The zero per cent interest offer runs throughout the festive season and is expected to drive significant uptake ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
