Advans Ghana rewards top savers as client wins trip to South Africa
Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd has honoured several customers for demonstrating consistent savings habits during a nationwide promotional campaign aimed at encouraging financial discipline among individuals and small businesses.
The awards ceremony, held at the institution’s Newtown branch at Mallam Atta Market in Accra on March 5, recognised clients who participated in the Advans Aha Ye D3 Promo, a three-month initiative designed to promote a culture of regular savings among customers.
The promotion rewarded not only the highest savers but also clients who showed significant improvement in their savings behaviour during the period. Participants from all branches of the savings and loans company were eligible for the competition, which offered weekly and monthly rewards ranging from cash prizes to household appliances and electronics.
Delivering the keynote address, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Advans Ghana, Guillaume Valence, said the initiative formed part of the institution’s broader strategy to promote financial security and resilience among its clients.
“At Advans Ghana, our mission is to empower clients to build financial security for themselves, their families, and their businesses. Savings is more than money set aside; it is the foundation for growth, opportunity, and resilience. Through this promotion, we celebrate those who are committed to making consistent, responsible financial choices and investing in their future,” he said.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the grand prize to Agnes Naadu, the owner of Agnaa Enterprise and a client of the Okaishie branch, who emerged as the overall winner after recording the highest savings performance during the promotion.
In recognition of her achievement, Mrs Naadu received a fully paid two-night trip to South Africa, including flights, accommodation and guided tours.
“I am truly honoured to be recognised by Advans Ghana for my savings discipline. This promotion has motivated me to be more consistent with my finances, and winning the grand prize is a wonderful reward for my efforts. I hope my story inspires others, especially women entrepreneurs, to take their savings seriously and plan for a stronger future,” she said.
Other awardees included Isaac Larbi, who placed first runner-up and received a 55-inch TCL television for outstanding savings growth, while Bernard Oduro, the second runner-up, was presented with a mini fridge.
In addition, several top savers from individual branches across the country were presented with household appliances such as sound bars, blenders and rice cookers as part of the awards.
Mr Valence noted that women entrepreneurs formed a significant portion of the institution’s client base and played an important role in driving economic activity.
He said the victory of a female entrepreneur in the competition underscored the institution’s commitment to supporting women-led businesses and strengthening financial literacy across different client groups.
“Financial discipline is a journey, not a one-time achievement. Initiatives like the Advans Aha Ye D3 Promo make saving rewarding, motivating, and accessible. We want our clients to see that consistent effort today leads to tangible benefits tomorrow,” he added.
Advans Ghana said it would continue to introduce innovative financial products and initiatives aimed at strengthening financial inclusion, supporting small businesses and encouraging long-term savings among individuals and enterprises.
The institution, a subsidiary of the Paris-based Advans Group, currently serves more than 130,000 clients through 19 branches across eight regions in Ghana, providing financial services primarily to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
