All set for Vodafone Ghana, HR Focus Africa’s HR Focus Conference 2020

Vodafone Ghana in collaboration with HR Focus Africa Magazine will host the 2020 Human Resource (HR) conference tomorrow Friday October 9, 2020.

The conference which is on the theme, “Work and wellness”, will bring together experienced and forward-thinking HR and business professionals to interact and share knowledge on a virtual platform.

There will be presentations, panel discussions and interactive question and answer segments starting from 8:30 am. Some topics to be discussed are implementing a World Class Wellness Program, Making Staff a Priority, and Enhancing individual and organisational wellbeing, among others.

There are many seasoned business professionals scheduled to appear during the Vodafone HR Forum. They include:  Awo Quayson-Sackey, the Regional Vice President of HR, Newmont Africa, Dr. Elikem Tamaklo, MD – Nyaho Medical Center, Mr. Ken Antwi, National Head of HR, OLAM Ghana, Hannah Ashiokai Akrong the HR Director - Vodafone Ghana, Nkem Offanabo, Founder – The Work-Life Organisation, Nigeria, Dr. Naa Asheley Dordor, CEO – Nova Wellness Centre, William Easmon, People & Culture Director -Absa Bank Ghana, and Mr. Gideon Ataraire, CEO – Allianz Life Ghana.

The annual HR Focus Conference took a unique turn this year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and as such, will see all participants join in through a virtual platform. Different organisations across industries in Ghana, have also contributed their quota to ensure that the knowledge and practice of wellness in the world of work is vastly propagated. Companies such as Newmont Ghana, L’AINE Services, VRA, Allianz Life, Nova Wellness, Nyaho Medical Centre, Old Mutual, Apex Health Insurance, Zeepay, Strategic plus, OLAM Ghana and Amal Medical Laboratory have all pledged commitment to employee wellness by giving a lending hand to the HR Focus Team to organise this august event.

In an interview with the HR Director of Vodafone Ghana, Hannah Ashiokai Akrong – she expressed excitement about the event saying, “We always partner with HR Focus to organise the best of events for the purpose of career development, sharing knowledge and the advancement of best practice in HR. Now more than ever, we believe it is imperative for all businesses to provide the necessary tools and policies to ensure that their workers are enjoying the best kind of wellness.”

The Editor-in-Chief of HR Focus Africa in an interview with Asaase Radio 99.5 also said, “I strongly believe it is possible to enjoy a work life balance and at the conference, one key topic I look forward to discussing is,
“Achieving the Perfect Work Life Balance; Bringing wellness to corporate culture,”” She went on to say, “People in an organisation seek their wellbeing first – only then, can they give off their best to their employers and organisations.”
