Andy Burnham has confirmed he will stand to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Labour leader and prime minister.
Minutes after Burnham said he will put himself forward, former Health Secretary Wes Streeting said he will back him.
Earlier, in a statement outside 10 Downing Street, the Sir Keir Starmer said he accepted with "good grace" that his party no longer believed he was the right person "to lead us into the next general election"
Visibly emotional, Starmer thanked his "fantastic wife, Vic" and said he wants to be the "best dad I can to my beautiful children"
