Nigerian music executive Don Jazzy has revealed that singer Ayra Starr has had a significant impact on his life, describing her as a “dream Starrgirl”.
He made the revelation while reacting to a post on X by user @_Fabianszn, who shared an old photo of Ayra Starr and praised Don Jazzy for helping to launch her music career.
“Don Jazzy really saved Ayra Starr if not she for still dey teach kindergarten children,” the user wrote.
Responding to the post, Don Jazzy said Ayra Starr’s influence extended beyond her career, noting that the singer had also changed his own life.
He recalled discovering her through an Instagram freestyle and expressed gratitude for the moment they crossed paths.
“I bless the day I was shown her Instagram freestyle o,” he said.
“She has most definitely changed my own life too. And she has been nothing but a dream Starrgirl,” he added.Don Jazzy signed Ayra Starr to Mavin Records in 2020 after being impressed by her freestyle videos and song covers posted on Instagram.
Since joining the label, Ayra Starr has risen to become one of Nigeria’s prominent Afrobeats artistes, recording international hits and earning recognition beyond Africa.
