Avoid mass termination of mass job lay-offs in difficult times – Dzifa Vanderpuye
An Associate of Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah, Mrs Dzifa Vanderpuye, has advised employers to refrain from mass termination of employment contracts with employees in times of uncertainties.
Speaking on the panel of the Graphic Talks 360, a discussion organized by Graphic Business series on the topic, “Rescuing employment contracts in times of disruption,” she said mass termination of appointments was not a sustainable way of managing a business.
“Terminating 10 to 20 employees at a time due to redundancy is not viable for businesses,” she stated.

She further explained that laying off employees during the pandemic period should be done in agreement with the employees.
She also advised employers to communicate to their employees at the beginning of their employment contracts that should there be some form of redundancy, their salaries may have to be reduced.
The discussion was moderated by the Deputy Editor of the Graphic Business, Mr Charles Benoni Okine.
