
Bayport Ghana’s 2024 ESG report highlights green growth and gender inclusion
Bayport Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable and inclusive business practices with the release of its 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Annual Report, detailing major strides in environmental protection, gender empowerment, customer experience, and community development.
The report highlights the company’s continued efforts to integrate sustainability into all aspects of its operations while creating long-term value for its customers, employees, and stakeholders.
In 2024, Bayport achieved a 21 percent reduction in electricity consumption compared to the previous year through targeted energy conservation measures, reflecting its dedication to environmental responsibility. The company also made significant progress in gender inclusion through its “2X Challenge” initiative, which offered loan discounts to empower women, contributing to a workforce now comprising 44 percent women.
Customer confidence in the brand also rose sharply. Bayport’s net promoter score increased from 12 in 2023 to 31 in 2024, underscoring a major improvement in customer satisfaction and loyalty. The company further demonstrated its commitment to client protection by earning a GOLD-level certification from the MFR Certification Committee in recognition of its adherence to fairness, transparency, and dignity in all client interactions.
Bayport Ghana’s strong financial performance was another highlight of 2024. The company successfully issued GH¢100 million in corporate bonds and secured an additional GH¢61 million in funding from other sources, reinforcing its financial stability and growth prospects. With a team of over 230 employees and more than 1,000 sales agents nationwide, Bayport continues to champion diversity, inclusion, and employee empowerment.
Its community initiatives also made tangible impact, with more than 4,200 students benefiting from financial literacy workshops organised across the country. The company also provided scholarships and donated dual desks to improve the learning environment in underserved schools.
Looking ahead, Bayport Ghana has announced new sustainability initiatives for 2025, including the “Trash to Treasure” campaign, which seeks to promote environmental protection through plastic recycling and community participation.
According to the report, Bayport’s ESG strategy remains firmly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly No Poverty, Gender Equality, and Decent Work and Economic Growth. The company pledged to sustain its drive towards transparency, innovation, and inclusive development.
