Business Resource Centre trains MSME's in Ada East and Ada West

The Business Resource Centre, Ada has held a one-day Bookkeeping training for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Ada East and Ada West Districts of the Greater Accra Region.

Addressing the over 40 participants during the workshop, the General Manager, Kweku Hammond admonished them on the need to inculcate the correct bookkeeping practices and also acquire a savings culture that will allow their Micro business grow on the right trajectory.

The Business Development and Marketing Manager for the Ada Office, Josephine Boateng explained to them that the Business Resource Centre was a district based, one-stop shop, that provided a full range of Business Development Services to potential and existing MSMEs in Ada East, Ada West, Ashaiman, Tema West, Tema Metropolis and Adenta.

She explained that the BRC was also also serving as as a business information repository centre for all.

The facilitator for the workshop and Finance and Administration Manager of the Ada BRC, David Owusu took the participants through some bookkeeping basics such as Sales Day Book and Purchases Day Book, Journal/Payment Vouchers, General ledger, Daily/Monthly Cash Books, Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS), Tax/Returns Filing, Petty Cash Management/Imprest Accounting and others.

The participants after the workshop expressed appreciation for the training and said the training was timely as they were going to use it to make their businesses grow and survive during the Covid-19 pandemic

The Business Resource Centre (BRC) is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) created by the Ministry of Trade & Industry, under the supervision of the National Board for Small Scale Industry (NBSSI), with funding from African Development Bank (AfDB) and International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), to promote and support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and industrialization in Ghana, through the Rural Enterprise Program (REP)
The mission of the BRC is to assist MSMEs and entrepreneurs to grow successfully, through the use of modern technologies and best business practices, and through this process, expand the Ghanaian economy and create jobs as part of the Industrial Transformation Agenda of the Governmen
