Communications reporters begin dialogue series
The Network of Communications Reporters (NCR) will begin its maiden dialogue series on Tuesday to discuss pressing issues happening within the telecommunications sector.
The quarterly event on the topic, “Moving from Service Quality to Service Excellence” will enable speakers to discuss the way forward in achieving service excellence for subscribers of telecoms services in the country.

The speakers for the event will include the Minister of Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Director-General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Mr Joseph Anokye, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Mr Ebenezer Asante and The Research and Communications Manager Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Mr Derek Laryea.
Explaining the rationale for the series, the Dean of the NCR, Mr Charles Benoni Okine, noted that the NCR decided to create the dialogue series as a platform for industry players to discuss pressing issues within the sector.
“There is very little information in the media about the kind of services and developments within the telecoms space in the country and, therefore, we believe this unique forum will serve as an appropriate place for ideas to be shared,” he said.
Mr Okine said the NCR decided to begin with the topic because the industry had evolved and the time had come for subscribers to enjoy what was beyound what they were experiencing.
“We trust that the industry deserves better and so we will raise a few issues as per the agitations from the public and we will have the experts respond and also tell us what they are doing as far as their respective roles are concerned,” he added.
Mr Okine expressed the hope that at the end of the day, the discussion only would not be rhetorics but something that will be appreciated by users of the services of the various players in the telecoms space.
