EV House launches operations with two electric vehicles

EV House Limited has officially commenced operations in Ghana with the launch of two groundbreaking electric vehicles, the Geely Riddara RD6 and the Geely Geome Panda Mini, in what industry experts describe as a major step toward the country’s transition to sustainable mobility.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the company’s showroom in East Legon, Accra, brought together government officials, industry leaders, environmental advocates, and corporate executives to witness the unveiling of the two vehicles that promise to redefine transportation in Ghana and across Africa.

EV House Limited, a subsidiary of Accra EV (GH) Limited, is a premium electric car and fleet management company dedicated to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles and developing e-mobility solutions tailored for African markets. Its goal, according to management, is to help individuals, businesses, and government institutions “do more and spend less” through efficient electric mobility systems.

The company was founded and is led by Mr. Edward T. Hightower, a global automotive executive with over 30 years of experience across Ford, BMW, and General Motors. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President of an electric vehicle manufacturing start-up in the United States and is also the author of Motoring Africa: Sustainable Automotive Industrialization.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Hightower outlined the company’s vision for Ghana’s role in Africa’s electric mobility transformation.

“Our mission at EV House is to empower Ghanaians to drive the future — a future that’s cleaner, more efficient, and proudly made for Africa,” he said. “We are not just selling cars; we are building an ecosystem that connects Ghana to the global electric vehicle industry. Together, we can make Ghana a leader in sustainable transportation across the continent.”

The Geely Riddara RD6, described as the most functional electric vehicle in Ghana, was unveiled as the flagship model. The all-electric pickup combines power, practicality, and innovation, featuring a 15 kW plug-in mobile power system that allows users to operate tools, appliances, and other devices directly from the vehicle. With a dual-motor 4x4 configuration, the RD6 boasts a driving range of up to 424 kilometres per charge, making it suitable for both urban and off-road use.

EV House also introduced the Geely Geome Panda Mini, described as the most accessible EV in Ghana. The compact and affordable vehicle offers a 200-kilometre range, seats four passengers, and can be charged using a standard Ghanaian outlet. It is designed for city driving, short-distance transport, and mobility services, making it ideal for businesses and individuals seeking affordable, zero-emission transport solutions.

According to Mr. Hightower, EV House’s ambition extends beyond vehicle sales. The company plans to support the localisation and industrialisation of Ghana’s electric vehicle value chain by creating jobs, fostering innovation, and developing clean energy solutions to complement the country’s green industrial transformation.

“With the unveiling of the Geely Riddara RD6 and Panda Mini, we are positioning Ghana at the forefront of Africa’s electric mobility revolution,” Mr. Hightower stated. “These vehicles represent our commitment to environmental stewardship, innovation, and long-term economic development.”

The launch of EV House Limited signals growing momentum in Ghana’s e-mobility space, as the nation seeks to cut carbon emissions, reduce fuel dependency, and promote green industrial growth through electric vehicle adoption.
