This comes after five months of promoting the culture of saving in its customers and Ghanaians at large.

At the grand draw held during a customer appreciation dinner in Accra at the weekend, Mr Festus Armoh Nweamah, a customer from the bank’s Market Circle branch in Takoradi, emerged the ultimate winner and took home a one-kilogramme (kg) 24-carat gold bar.

The first runner-up, Mary Tumpi of the Nungua branch, earned half a kilogramme 24-carat gold bar, with the second runner-up, Sezan Houenou Elisee of the Ridge Towers branch, winning a 250 grams 24-carat gold bar. Seven other customers received a gold coin each.

The Divisional Director for Retail Banking at Fidelity Bank, Mr Julian Kingsley Opuni, expressed appreciation to the customers, saying "our customers are the lifeblood of our success. We are delighted to have come to a successful and exciting completion of the ‘Save for Gold’ promotion with the ultimate draw”.

He said his outfit as a dynamic indigenous bank, always wanted to do something different from the competition in the country.

“Being Ghanaian, with our Gold Coast heritage, we chose the gold to symbolise royalty and also see the gold as a store of value,” he noted.

Mr Opuni added that Fidelity Bank had performed well since its inception 10 years ago and through good decision making by managers, the bank was now among the top five banks in the country.

He also stressed that the loyalty of the customers and staff had been invaluable.

The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, who was the Guest of Honour, commended the bank for its unique ‘Fidelity Save for Gold’ initiative since 2015.

“Rewarding loyal customers with gold prizes across branches nationwide does not seem like an easy task, but Fidelity took the honour of travelling through almost all the regions to make this happen,” he said while calling on other institutions  to emulate the bank and also affect lives of the citizens positively.

The Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mr Edward Effah, expressed appreciation to the customers and assured them that the bank would continue to make best choices and introduce products that would serve their needs.
