According to her, anytime the company’s systems detected any fraudulent activity, action was quickly taken to prevent it from escalating.
For his part, the Dean of the NCR, Mr Charles Benoni Okine, urged players in the telecoms and financial services industry to continuously tighten their procedures and systems to help eliminate or reduce to the barest minimum, the growing incidence of cybercrime in the country.
“They also have to support the government’s aggressive drive towards fighting cybercrime, a phenomenon which is gaining too much notoriety in the country.
“The high level of cybercrime in the country is making Ghana unpopular in the eyes of the international community.

If we sit back to watch, it will not only affect the managers of the economy alone but businesses as well”, he said adding that; “This is the more reason why as players in the telecoms and financial services sector, you need to support the government’s efforts to stamp out the criminal activities”.
Mr Okine pledged the commitment of the network to play its advocacy role to ensure that the sector contributed its quota in a much bigger way towards the development of the economy.
“If the telecoms sector in the country grows, it will impact our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the players in the industry will also stand to gain through improved returns on their investments”, he said.
