Satisfaction
Addressing the media after the signing ceremony in Accra last Wednesday, Mr Kissi expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, saying it would pave the way for the two parties to work together to strengthen the country’s healthcare supply chain.
“We are very excited about the agreement. At the end of the day, it is all about getting the right healthcare delivery in Ghana and so this agreement will be beneficial to the Ghanaian populace.
He said DAS PLC was the manufacturer and distributor of high-quality pharmaceutical products that was trying to improve its supply chain using mPharma as an appropriate channel to reach more consumers.
According to him, the agreement is a collaborative one that seeks to deepen the footsteps of both parties in the healthcare supply and distribution channel.
“The agreement is, therefore, not about DAS PLC brand but rather a collective benefit on a mutual basis,” he said.
The CEO observed that the parties were ready to work together to ensure that the pharmaceutical products were out there to meet the needs of Ghanaians.
“Given the kind of supply chain and infrastructure put in place by mPharma, we have no doubt that pharmaceutical products will get to where they are needed,” he said.

He said he was optimistic that the agreement with mPharma would help improve DAS PLC’s ranking from being among the top three player in the country to become number one.
“We believe that we are among the top three players in Ghana and this agreement will further enhance our ranking,” he added.
The partnership
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of mPharma, Mr Gregory Rockson, described the partnership between DAS PLC and mPharma as strategic and one that would advance the healthcare distribution channel.
“We are here to sign a long-term collaboration with DAS PLC to ensure that we can guarantee the availability and supply of medicines for the Ghanaian population.

“We think that it is important to work with a local manufacturer such as DAS PLC to build resilience within our drug supply chain to ensure that the product reaches consumers,” he said.
COVID-19 impact
At a period when the global healthcare supply chain has been impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he said a partnership of such nature was crucial to build self-reliance.
He added that mPharma would continue to collaborate with stakeholders in the health sector in order to improve healthcare delivery across the country and beyond.
