It, therefore, advised businesses and individuals not to hesitate to contact the bank for expert guidance on financial matters to help improve their businesses and livelihoods.

Customer appreciation

The Board Chairman of the ADB, Mr Alex Bernasko, gave the assurance at a customer appreciation cocktail held for people and organisations that transact businesses with the bank in the Ashanti Region.

The event also provided an opportunity for customers to interact and engage closely with the board and the management of the bank.

Mr Bernasko commended the customers for doing business with the bank, adding that their continuous loyalty over the years had sustained the ADB.

“As a business, the ADB has become what it is today thanks to your patronage over the years, which has largely contributed to our expanding our services nationwide,” he said.

Investment in ICT

The Board Chairman said to help reinforce the ADB’s commitment to continue meeting and exceeding the expectations of its customers, it had since 2017 improved on its information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure.

He said the bank had also embarked on branch expansion and relocations, all to help bring banking closer to customers.

Mr Bernasko added that the bank recently procured brand new Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) to replace obsolete ones in some of the branches, including those in the Ashanti Region.

“Although we are satisfied with the improvement chalked up by the bank in the period, I agree that there is the need to do more. I wish to assure you that more will be done to meet the aspirations of the changing needs of you, our cherished customers,” he said.

Bank of choice

The Managing Director of the ADB, Dr John Kofi Mensah, said the management was determined to position the ADB as the bank of choice for customers through better products and services.

According to him, prior to 2017, the ADB was a loss-making bank, but with a proper strategy from the board and the management, it was now making profit.

The ADB grew its profit by more than 340 per cent in 2020. Its annual report showed that net profit rose from GH¢14.8 million in 2019 to GH¢65.4 million, buoyed by strong growth in fees, loans and deposits.
