The government of Ghana is set to convene a two-day national economic dialogue aimed at engaging citizens in finding practical solutions to the country’s economic challenges.
The discussions will focus on establishing clear commitments and milestones to reset the economy for long-term resilience and transformation.
Scheduled for March 3 and 4, the event will be led by President John Dramani Mahama, who will deliver a keynote address on the theme, “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together.” A statement from the presidency, signed by Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of Government Communications, confirmed that the dialogue will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre.
According to the statement, the dialogue is designed to foster consensus and collaboration among participants regarding priority policies and structural reforms. It will feature thematic sessions covering critical areas such as achieving sustainable macroeconomic stability, promoting economic transformation, and advancing infrastructure development.

Other focus areas include implementing structural reforms, ensuring private sector-led growth, restoring good governance, and combating corruption.
The government expects the outcomes of the forum to initiate the journey towards economic revitalisation, ultimately improving business opportunities and living conditions nationwide.
The presidency reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement and collaboration to build a prosperous Ghana.
"It will bring together key stakeholders from the private sector, academia, public policy institutions, and civil society organisations," the statement noted.
Highlighting the importance of citizen participation in shaping the country’s economic future, the statement added, “This initiative represents a crucial step in fulfilling President Mahama's campaign promise to involve citizens in discussions that shape their economic future.”
