Graphic Business reporter, others shortlisted for awards
The full list of nominees for the much anticipated Ghana Shippers Awards Night and Dinner, which comes off on June 22, 2018 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, has been released.
The second edition of the awards to recognise and reward players in Ghana’s maritime and shipping industry is supported by the Ghana Shippers Authority, Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Ministry of Transport and powered by Globe Productions.
It provides a platform to recognise individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of the industry while recognising the key functionaries within the industry that promote growth and sustainability.
The awards cut across road transportation, ocean carriers, air transportation, freight forwarding, shipping agents, shipping lines, courier agencies, government agencies, insurance and financial institutions and much more.
It will also recognises distinctions in the industry and promotes the interests of the shipping and maritime industry nationally and internationally.
Some of the award categories that promise to be the toast of the night are the Anas Aremeyaw Anas Award for Transparency, Freight Forwarder of the Year, Shipping Line of the Year, shipping Agent of the Year, CEO of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Reporter of the Year.
2018 nominees
Maclean Kwofi, a reporter of Graphic Business; Dorothy Frimpongmaa of Radio Gold and Patrick Paintsil of the Business and Financial Times have been nominated for the reporter of the year category.
Organisations that have been nominated include Borderless Alliance, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Ghana Communications Network Services Limited (GCNET) and West Blue Consulting.
Others are DHL Ghana Limited, Ghana Post, Aramex Ghana Limited, GCGL, Ghana Airports Company Limited, Meridian Port Service, Mcdan Shipping Company Limited, and Amaris Terminal Limited.
Also nominated are CAGL Logistics Limited, Air Ghana Limited, Air France KLM, UT Logistics, Transglobal Logistics Limited, Axiss Shipping and Grimaldi Ghana Limited.
Jonmoore International, Ecobank, GN Bank, ADB Bank, Activa Insurance, Priority Insurance, Star Assurance, Rigworld International and many more have also been nominated.
The night promises to be a night of rewarding excellence and networking for industry players.
