GTBank wins CFI ‘Best Digital Banking’ award

The Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited has been recognised for the efficient deployment of its electronic banking services.

The bank was awarded the “Best Digital Banking – Ghana 2017” by the Capital Finance International (cfi), United Kingdom, publishers of the cfi.co, a business, economics and finance magazine.

The endorsement for the bank’s strength and superiority in innovation and the use of technology to make banking simple and convenient for customers in any part of the world came after a rigorous voting exercise involving reputable readers, subscribers and contributors of cfi.co magazine, resulting in the nomination and shortlisting of some Ghanaian banks.

A statement issued by the bank and signed by the Group Head, Corporate Affairs, Mr Ben Ackah-Mensah said after the nomination and shortlisting, a panel of judges then decided on the winner in that category after a series of interviews with representatives of the nominees.

“Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited emerged the winner and came out on tops as a result of “the state-of-the-art and full-service online banking portal, and multiple alternative services channels for which the bank has established a well-earned reputation as an e-banking pioneer”, according to the report of the panel of judges for this 2017 awards made available to GTBank,” it said.

It was further stated in the report that, “GTBank (Ghana) has pushed the envelope, and set the pace, in providing excellence in customer service. The bank aims to maintain the closest possible proximity to its clients and, to this end, instituted an open door policy that offers clients a multitude of ways to keep in touch with the bank’s agents and account executives”.

The cfi judging panel noted that, “GTBank (Ghana) has carefully crafted its brand image to convey openness, inclusiveness, and a can-do spirit that is unique in the {Ghana Banking} industry.”

The Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr Lekan Sanusi expressed his delight at the recognition, explaining that “It is rewarding when your efforts are recognised not only in the country in which you operate, but also by reputable global institutions such as cfi. This award goes to reinforce our commitment to making banking simple for everyone.”

Earlier in May 2016, the bank was adjudged the “Technology Advanced Bank of the Year” for the third consecutive time at the Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards 2016 in Accra.

Also for the second time running, GTBank was adjudged “E-Banking Service of the Year 2016” in recognition of the bank’s convenient and reliable electronic banking solutions during the same ceremony.
