KIC Fellowship hosts homecoming to spur innovation in Ghana’s agribusiness sector
The KIC Fellowship Community in March 2025 convened its first-ever Homecoming Event in Kumasi, bringing together 123 young agribusiness innovators from across the country.
The gathering served as a springboard for new collaborations and a renewed commitment to transforming Ghana’s agricultural landscape through entrepreneurship, innovation, and community.
The event welcomed both past and current participants of the Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) Fellowship, which has become a leading platform for cultivating young talent within the country’s agribusiness ecosystem. The Homecoming was designed to ignite conversations, foster mentorship, and share insights to help fellows scale their ventures and deepen their impact.
Through a blend of keynote panel discussions, interactive breakout sessions, and a high-energy networking mixer, the event delivered on its promise to empower participants and strengthen the Fellowship network. Fellows engaged with successful alumni and industry experts who shared lessons on navigating emerging opportunities in agribusiness, including investment readiness and the evolving role of AgriTech.
Interactive sessions focused on practical aspects of business growth, including accessing financing, developing partnerships, and leveraging digital tools to enhance productivity. Fellows also participated in targeted group discussions aimed at tackling challenges specific to their ventures.
Beyond the structured sessions, the event provided space for organic connection-building among peers from diverse backgrounds and regions. The networking mixer offered a relaxed yet purposeful environment where ideas flowed freely and the seeds of future collaborations were planted.
"The energy at the Homecoming was incredible," one participant remarked. "It reminded us that we’re part of something bigger—a community that is committed to reshaping agriculture in Ghana.”
According to organisers, the event’s success has sparked plans to make the Homecoming an annual fixture. The vision is to institutionalise the gathering as a central pillar of the Fellowship’s mission: to cultivate a nationwide community of agribusiness leaders equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support to drive sustainable development.
