
New SIC Life Insurance board inaugurated
The Deputy Minister for Finance, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, has inaugurated a nine-member Board of Directors of SIC Life Insurance Company Limited in Accra, with a call on them to help reposition the company as a competitive state-owned enterprise.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening state-owned enterprises, stressing that public and government business, where practicable, will be directed to these institutions. According to him, the directive forms part of a broader national strategy to enable state-owned companies to regain their competitiveness and play a central role in economic development.
Mr Nyarko urged the new board to view their appointments as a call to national duty, noting that SIC Life is currently facing challenges that demand strong leadership, innovation, and efficiency.
On his part, the newly sworn-in Board Chairman, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu, MP, pledged that the board will operate as a united team in alignment with the government’s reset agenda. He assured that within a year, the company will show visible signs of revival.
