The event, which was held at East Airport, brought together both junior and senior staff to dine and share a moment of fun.

Mr Everest Dery was crowned overall best worker of the year, while the Chairman’s award of excellence went to Mr Alex Ametefe. Mr Mohammed Muniru took the award for the Lobster Ink student of the year – an internationally recognised hospitality e-learning programme - and Mr Christopher Gakpo won the National Service Employee of the year, an award for outstanding selfless contributions to the brand and the nation.

The General Manager of the group of hotels, Ms Hazel Gumpo, congratulated the team on a job well done, adding that all needed to be proud of not only their contribution to the brand but the role they played as “ambassadors of our great nations.” She reiterated the importance of offering good customer service as a way of keeping clients and attracting new ones. Ms Hazel, an African Management Services Company (AMSCO) General Manager, disclosed that the hotel was committed to building the capacity of its employees and as such rewarded employees for excellence as part of its contribution to the hospitality sector in the country.

The staff were treated to a half day motivational talk from Legacy and Legacy conducted by Mr Albert Ocran, on a module called “Going Beyond The Extra Mile – Creating a Culture of Personal and Professional Excellence.” In this workshop, the team was taught the importance of self-discipline, self-motivation, effective communication and indeed going beyond the extra mile.

After the session, the managers, together with the staff, went to the dance floor and celebrated the night away with dance. There was also an exquisite large buffet spread fit for kings complemented with cocktails and fine music.
