Prof. Noel Tagoe joins Npontu board to drive AI and fintech growth

Npontu Technologies Limited has appointed renowned finance and digital strategy expert Noel Tagoe to its board, in a move aimed at strengthening its governance and supporting its expansion across Africa’s digital economy.

The Accra-based firm, known for its work in artificial intelligence and enterprise software, said the appointment reflects a deliberate effort to align its boardroom capacity with its growing continental ambitions. The company has built a reputation through flagship products such as the Kedebah ERP platform and the Snwolley AI engine, and is now positioning itself to scale operations across multiple markets.

Professor Tagoe, who brings decades of experience in financial strategy, digital transformation and institutional leadership, is expected to play a key role in guiding the company’s expansion into fintech, enterprise solutions and AI-driven infrastructure. His expertise, particularly at the intersection of finance and technology, is seen as critical as the firm navigates the complexities of growth in Africa’s evolving digital landscape.

His appointment comes against the backdrop of increasing conversations around artificial intelligence readiness on the continent. Prof. Tagoe has been a prominent voice in this space, including delivering a lecture at the University of Professional Studies Accra on “AI and the Future Workplace: Is Ghana Ready?”, where he examined the opportunities and challenges associated with technological transformation.

He currently serves as the founding Dean of Nile Business School at Nile University of Nigeria, where he is spearheading a model of business education tailored to African contexts. In addition, he leads his own advisory firm, Noel Tagoe & Company, and has held academic positions at leading global institutions, including Nottingham University Business School, Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, Manchester Business School and University College Dublin.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Prof. Tagoe has combined academia with industry leadership. His previous roles include Executive Vice President of Research and Curricula at the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, where he led global competency frameworks and research into the future of finance. He has also held positions at multinational firms such as BP and TotalEnergies, and headed financial advisory consulting at KPMG Ghana.

Industry observers say his addition to the board underscores Npontu’s intent to pair technological innovation with strong governance and strategic oversight, as competition intensifies within Africa’s digital and fintech ecosystems.

The appointment is expected to enhance the company’s credibility among investors and partners, while positioning it to contribute more significantly to the continent’s digital transformation agenda.
