SocieteGenerale pledges commitment to SME sector
Societe Generale (SG) Ghana has held its global transaction banking conference with a pledge to continuously support small-scale businesses to grow across Africa and the world.

The one-day event was organised for the customers and shareholders of the bank to explain the policies and programmes which have been put in place to accomplish the support and growth.
It was also a time to interact and share experiences on global transaction from experts in the banking fraternity.
Presentations were made on trade financing, forex, factoring, cash management, correspondence and internet banking.
Four key pillars
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of SG Ghana, Mr Sionle Yeo, outlined four thematic areas the bank had put in place for the next two years for the benefit of its customers and businesses in general.
Those, he said, were the bank’s transformation programmes to streamline its activities both locally and internationally.
Key among the agenda was taking advantage of technology banking as it endeavours to integrate its customers and shareholders into the programmes.
He explained that the transformation agenda meant customers across the globe could easily access services such as trade financing and forex, factoring and leasing.

“In view of this, we have created under the SG Ghana transformation programme, a particular department that will solely handle our customers as we draw them along our vision and mission,” he said.
Mr Yeo said the global transaction programme also meant that customers across the globe could have their needs met with ease.
The Deputy Managing Director, Mr Francois Marchal, pledged that the bank would continue to work and listen to its customers to be able to deliver on its promises.
Some shareholders including Nestle Ghana, all bore witnesses to the new transformation agenda launched by the bank last year.
