Yamush Group targets 1,000 hotel rooms by 2030

The Yamush Group of Companies has announced plans to expand its hospitality portfolio to 1,000 hotel rooms by the year 2030.

The expansion drive, which aims to support job creation, skills development, and position the country as a competitive hospitality destination on the global stage, is part of the Group’s long-term commitment to Ghana’s tourism and hospitality industry.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Group, Zibrim Yamusah, disclosed this at the official opening of the Four Points by Sheraton Accra, a new addition to the Group’s growing portfolio of internationally branded hotels.

He explained that the Group’s journey in hospitality began modestly in 1999 with a seven-room Airside Hotel, built on a vision of delivering sincere service with excellence.

“From those humble beginnings, we have continued to grow, adapt and evolve with global hospitality trends while remaining firmly rooted in Ghana,” he said.

He noted that the Airside Hotel was currently being repositioned and will soon be transformed into a Moxy Hotel, while the Group’s 109-room Best Western Premier Hotel, opened in 2010, is being converted into a Protea Hotel by Marriott.

These developments, he said, reflected the Group’s strategy of strengthening partnerships with leading global brands.

The Four Points by Sheraton Accra, which has been under development since 2016, represents another major milestone in the Group’s expansion agenda.

Mr Yamusah also revealed that a Residence Inn by Marriott was already in the pipeline to cater for extended-stay and business travellers.

He encouraged young people to remain disciplined and resilient, noting that it was possible to start small and build enduring enterprises.

The new hotel, he said, symbolises not just growth in rooms, but a renewed commitment to hospitality excellence and national development.

A member of the Hotel’s Board of Directors, Michael Cobblah, said the hotel was an investment in economic growth, employment, tourism, and community development.

“We believe it will not only serve guests but will also contribute meaningfully to the economy and position Accra as a destination of choice for business and leisure travellers alike,” Mr Cobblah stated.
