Mr  Kwame, in a statement issued by the company, observed that taxes from the telecoms sector formed a key revenue stream for governments on the continent, and as such a solution that gave assurance that the right revenues were being captured should be of paramount interest to the tax authorities.

“We are indeed proud to receive this award because we presented a solution that checks revenue leakage and stops fraudsters from siphoning revenue from the state, and the judges saw it as the best on the continent,” he stated.

The conference, which looked at Regulation, Risk and Security Environment for Mobile Money Transfer & M-Pesa, SIM registration, Revenue Assurance, Telecom Traffic Monitoring, SIMBOX Fraud, SIM Server ByPass and other over-the-top services in the telecom industry in Africa, is held annually.

Other issues the conference touched on include; evolving challenges affecting the industry, new technologies being deployed to mitigate the challenges and the companies providing the leading-edge technologies. Additionally, the conference provided the platform for vendors to demonstrate state-of-the-art tools currently being used in combating fraud in the telecoms industry.

Participating countries and companies included Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Tanzania, Cameroun, Nigeria, Algeria, and Sudan; Etisalat, Safaricom, Orange, Zain Econet, Vodacom, Cell C, Latro Services, Sigos, Evolved Intelligence, Fraud Busters, Sudan MTN and Subah Infosolutions.
