Use scam to cleanse system

The Ghana Police Service has come under scrutinity ever since news of the recruitment scam broke on February 28, 2015.

As a frontline national security agency, many of us least expected that such a scandal of gargantuan proportions could ever take place within the service. 

But it did happen!

And, as should be expected, the Police Administration responded proactively, not by sweeping the issue under the carpet or even blaming the victims but setting up a high-powered investigative team under the supervision of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan. 

One of the most senior officers of the service, Commissioner of Police Mr Patrick Timbilla, is currently on interdiction in connection with the recruitment scam.

Although the Police Administration has been criticised for the scandal, the Daily Graphic thinks the proactive measures taken by the Police Administration deserve commendation. Not sweeping the matter under the
