Concert for C.K Mann @80
Veteran highlife star, CK Mann turned 80 earlier this year and a concert will be held on Saturday, August 15, at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill in Accra to celebrate his significant contribution to music in this country.
The singer, songwriter and guitarist was born in Cape Coast , Central Region in 1936 as Charles Kofi Amankwaah Mann.

A former seaman and member of Kakaiku’s Guitar Band, he formed his Carousel 7 band and shot to fame with his Edina Benya song around 1969.
He dedicated time and effort to bring a fresh feel to the traditional ‘osode’ rhythm of the fisherfolk of the Western and Central Regions.
CK Mann hits over the years include Adwoa Yankey, Medo Wo, Araba Lucy, Funky Hilife, Ma Awere Kyekyer and Me Dze Meho Bema Onyame.
“The man definitely deserves to be celebrated. He has done so much for our music,” said Nana Nyarko ‘Quantos’ Ackah-Yensu, a music producer and member of the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill management team.
The concert which is dubbed ‘A Celebration of CK Mann @80,’ will feature special guest performances by Agya Koo Nimo, Ebo Taylor, AB Crentsil, Pat Thomas, Smart Nkansah, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Rex Omar, Paulina Oduro, Adommaa, Kyekyeku, Wutah Afriyie, Kofi Kinata, Bessa Simons and more.
The +233 Jazz Bar and Grill held an 80th birthday concert for Teddy Osei of Osibisa fame in December last year and hosted another show for Ebo Tayor at 80 in January this year.
