Congrats! VGMA nominees say to winners

In the aftermath of the 16th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held last Saturday, many nominated musicians who did not pick up  awards in various categories have congratulated the winners on various platforms.

Even many of those who still feel strongly that they should have been winners, have expressed their disappointments while congratulating their colleagues who won.

Gospel musician, Gifty Osei, who was hopeful of winning Gospel Artiste of the Year or Gospel album of the Year told Showbiz she should have won Gospel Artiste of the Year because she really worked hard last year. Gifty, however, congratulated No Tribe   for winning Gospel Artiste of the Year.

Highlife musician, Bisa Kdei, who was nominated for Highlife Artiste of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year but failed to pick any said he deserved the Highlife Artiste of the Year won by Daddy Lumba.

Bisa told Showbiz that everyone knew his contribution last year was massive and was disappointed he did not win the Highlife Artiste of the Year on the night.

“I performed on 10 different shows in Ghana and abroad and I had a hit song, Saa, which had great impact in the year under review. At least, if I did not win Higlife song of the Year, I should have won the Highlife Artiste of the Year because I worked hard and Ghanaians know it. 

Manager of Guru, Frank Agyekum  said that his artiste deserves two awards - Best Rapper and Hiplife Song Of the Year out of the four nominations he had.

Other award winners took to Whatsapp, Instagram  and Twitter to express views about VGMA.
