Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale ready for Asaase Radio's Sound Clash

It is expected to be an epic encounter between Dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy at Asaase Radio’s Sound Clash, a lyrical battle to determine Ghana’s King of Dancehall music.

The event, dubbed ‘Clash2CrushCovid’ has generated a lot of discussion on social media largely among fans of the two artistes who were long time rivals before reconciling, and the ongoing debate was given more energy when the event was launched on Tuesday, August 4 at the premises of Asaase Radio.

Novelty

Both artistes were present at the launch of the show which seeks to celebrate creativity in Ghanaian music, raise awareness on COVID-19 and promote greater public education about the virus.

Describing the Sound Clash as a novelty, Stonebwoy said he agreed to it for the reason that it was pushing a positive agenda of saving lives in this pandemic.

“This is something the world has never seen before and I’m sure people haven’t even dreamt about a thing like this. But here we are and I’m ever ready to clash for a good cause.

“If it wasn’t for a good cause, I wouldn’t have been here. I believe this will go a long way to entertain people and make them happy. I therefore urge the corporate institutions to support this so that we can impact society,” he said.

Shatta Wale also pointed out that even though coronavirus had dealt badly with the world, it had also provided an opportunity for people to be very inventive, and Sound Clash was one of such progressive initiatives.

“Thanks to coronavirus, we are doing something like this and thanks to the organisers and stakeholders for bringing us together. Our fans have supported us to come this far. It’s a peaceful thing so I’m in for it and I will ensure it is a success,” Shatta stated.

The date of the much anticipated lyrical banter is yet to be announced but organisers disclosed that it would come off in September.
