Highlife artiste Sammy Lazio out with new single 'Be Mine'
The month of February has been unofficially declared as the month of Love and in keeping with the theme Highlife artiste Sammy Lazio has released his latest single 'Be Mine.'
'Be Mine' basically talks about love and certain sacrifices people make when they’re in love. In the song, Sammy Lazio talks about how dedicated he is to his woman and expresses his affections for her.
The song, produced by Cee Jay Beats, features Hiplife artiste Scripcha who brings his experience to bear on the song.
Sammy Lazio told Graphic Showbiz that he hoped people would love the track. “'Be Mine' is a very nice song and anyone who listens to it will simply fall in love with it. I will urge everyone to go listen to it because they will be glad they did,” he said.
He disclosed that the video for 'Be Mine' has been shot and is currently on the editing bench and will be released soon.
In December last year, Sammy Lazio released a Gospel song titled 'Oluwa' which is receiving appreciable airplay on the airwaves and he is hopeful 'Be Mine' will do great as well.
He hinted that he has a collaboration with rapper Yaa Pono which will be released very soon. “I have a lot of collaborations coming up this year so people should watch out for them and know that Sammy Lazio has a lot of good stuff coming the way of Ghanaians,” he stated.
Talking of collaborations, Sammy Lazio mentioned one major challenge he has had. “The only challenge I have now is that when you want to do collaborations with some of these top artistes they turn you down because they think you are new and do not bring anything to bear on their brand.
“Some even agree to do the collaboration but when the time comes to go to the studios, they don’t show up and this is very sad. They think you are an up and coming artiste and won’t do anything to boost their career,” he explained.
Sammy Lazio advised all up and coming artistes to take their craft seriously if they intend to make headway.
“This is a very competitive industry so we all need to work hard in order to get up there. Don’t be lazy, with hard work and dedication we will surely get there,” he concluded.
